Many Bothans died to smuggle this 100-year-old film out of Disney's newly-purchased Star Wars archive. The film (now restored and, amazingly, in a wide-screen format) pits a Utah Mormon lawman, Porter Rockwell, against the "Dark Raider," the obvious inspiration for Darth Vader in the Star Wars films.
The soundtrack is, of course, modern and was recorded in front of an audience at The Organ Loft in Salt Lake City with music performed by Blaine Gale on the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ.
This video was pushed live for the public on June 9, 2012, the anniversary of Porter Rockwell's death -- from natural causes. Copyright 2011 by Michael De Groote and Ryan Morgenegg. Richard Purdy played Porter Rockwell. Special thanks to George Lucas and the expansive and mind blowing world of Star Wars and for his good natured encouragement of fan videos. We love you George. Please don't sue us. We love Disney as well. Please don't sue us either.
By the way, if we get enough views, we will consider restoring another silent film from this exciting series on the Adventures of Porter Rockwell. So like us and tell your friends.
